Staff Profiles
David Bobanick, Executive Director
David has more than a decade of experience in non-profit food recovery
and distribution.
Since joining Rotary First Harvest in 2001, David has increased the amount of produce that the program collects and distributes annually, as well as greatly enhancing the organization’s strategic impact in the community. David has also been instrumental in developing Rotary-based hunger relief programs in other states, including Oregon, Florida, California, and most recently in the greater New Orleans area. David also has been invited to serve in an advisory capacity on several Washington State committees dealing with hunger response initiatives.
An active member of Mercer Island Rotary Club, David currently serves on the Board of Directors, continues his role as the club’s Membership Chair and is the club’s President Nominee Designate.
David serves on several non-profit boards, currently serving as President of the Access to Healthy Foods Coalition.
David was also chosen to participate in the inaugural Non-Profit Executive Leadership Institute at the University of Washington’s Evans School of Public Affairs, and recently participated in an Executive Leadership Institute at Stanford University’s School of Social Innovation.
Kate Boehm, Program and Administrative Director
Kate has a degree in Agriculture and
Food Business Management from the University of Minnesota. Kate
assists in food procurement, transportation coordination, donation
tracking, and handles day to day agency operations.
Jacki Lorenz, Development Director
With 25 years in the business community,
Jacki’s reputation for networking via her legendary 17 rolodex
database enables Rotary First Harvest to leverage her contacts.
Her industry experiences include finance, health care, retail, advertising,
education and non-profit.
Jacki has served as past president and finance chair of Seattle
Mental Health, a member of the Executive Committee and Board for
Rotary First Harvest, advisory board member of Habitat for Humanity,
finance chair and current president of Highline Community College’s
Foundation and finance chair of the Empty Space Theater. She has
been a member of Seattle #4 Rotary for 4 years, serving on the fellowship
and the Keekwullees (new member group) committees.
Julie Fine, Harvest Against Hunger Program Director
Julie comes to RFH with a decade of experience in agriculture and educational non-profit organizations. Prior to working on the Harvest Against Hunger gleaning program, she taught sustainable agriculture at the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems at University of California, Santa Cruz. She has a BA from Vassar College and a certificate in Ecological Horticulture from UC Santa Cruz.
Julie developed and is supervising the Harvest Against Hunger Americorps*VISTA project, which engages eight VISTA volunteers to develop local gleaning programs in Bellingham, Seattle, Olympia, Yakima, Tri-Cities and Okanogan.
