Programs

At its most basic level, RFH acts as a non-profit produce broker, connecting existing but underused resources within the agriculture, trucking and warehousing industries to collect and distribute millions of pounds of nutritious produce annually to food banks and hot meal programs across Washington through collaborations with hunger distribution center warehouses.  By connecting existing but underused resources within the agriculture, trucking and warehousing industries, RFH coordinates the delivery of millions of pounds of healthy produce annually to our partner programs’ warehouses.

In addition to that core work, RFH is committed to using our unique position in the hunger response network to identify gaps within the overall hunger response system and develop strategies to fill or close those gaps.  We actively seek information from a number of sources to determine what pressing barriers exist that prevent hunger relief work from being effective, then determine if there is an appropriate role RFH might play in reducing those barriers.
