RFH solicits donations of surplus fruits and vegetables – typically in 20,000 to 40,000 pound quantities – directly from farmers and processors.

Then, we solicit trucking companies to donate or significantly discount “deadhead” space (trucks coming back empty from a delivery) to deliver the food from the donor to our partner food bank distribution warehouses in Washington: Food Lifeline (Seattle), Northwest Harvest (Seattle), Emergency Food Network (Tacoma) and Second Harvest Inland Northwest (Spokane).
