Olympia

The Thurston County Food Bank is creating a formal gleaning program to increase the supply of fresh produce for the 10,000 households they serve.  TCFB is partnered with community gardens, local growers, and local food banks to build volunteer and agricultural participation in local gleaning.

About the VISTA:

Shannon, a native of California, has been rooted in Olympia since 2006 where sheA has studied and experienced organic farming in all of its glory. After graduating from Evergreen’s Sustainable Agriculture program, she is excited to continue following her passion by being involved in healthy local-scale food systems, and as many potlucks as Olympia has to offer.
