Wenatchee

Community Farm Connection supports small farms by improving consumer’s access to locally grown food. They have a number of projects, like Farmhouse Table, that work directly with growers in North Central Washington to bring their bounty to your table. Their newest project is a gleaning initiative, in which they will bring together local farms, volunteers and hunger relief organizations to build the foundation of a produce recovery project.

About the VISTA:

Alison has done work as an undergraduate at Michigan State University on food distribution and urban access to fresh, local foods. Creating situations where all people have access to healthy fresh food has always been important to her. She has been working on an organic farm in the Wenatchee Valley for the past several years and is excited to be a part of a new gleaning program in the area.
