What is Sharing First Harvest?
Sharing First Harvest is the work of
a dedicated group of Rotarians who created a strategic plan of
action
for developing a formal program and creating an informational CD/video.
The video provides an overview of how Rotarians
can get involved to help feed hungry people in thier area.
Rotarians
in opposite ends of the country have taken up the challenge
and
formed Rotary First Harvest programs in their communities.
Rotary
First Harvest of Oregon in District 5110 currently serves
the southern Oregon and notthern California areas.
Rotary
First Harvest of Florida (Ocala, FL) - focuses on helping
local hunger programs to develop new transportation opportunities
to pick up and deliver produce and other food items.
New Orleans area effort. Rotarians
from District 6840 recently organized a field harvest of citrus
for food banks
serving communities in the greater New Orleans area.

within this section of the site. As you will see, the groups in
Oregon, Florida and the Gulf Coast have tailored their efforts
based on the SFH motto: Find the weakest link in the hunger response
chain
in your
area and make it the strongest.
